Here’s a short post taken from a report that I recently wrote for those of you at the start of your health and wellness journey. Defining your vision must be your starting point; skip this and your success will be much harder to reach if not impossible and if you do get there it may be short lived.
Sit down, close your eyes, relax and take at least 5 minutes to think about where you want to be in 3 years time in terms of your own health and wellness. Picture your end point in your mind and ask yourself these questions:
1. Why do you want to get there?
2. What will it feel like to get there?
3. What will happen if you do not make a change to your current behaviour?
Now take pen to paper and describe your own Vision for Health and Wellness. Write as much as you need to depict what it will be like to achieve success. Also write down the answers to the three questions.
This may sound all very airy-fairy but it is extremely important because it will keep you focused on the goal and help you stay on track when obstacles get in the way. The key now is to put your written vision in a prominent place and read it every day.
