West Perth Personal Trainer review by Steve Deane from Nu Studio

Wishing Steve Deane who heads up Nu Studio a big season kite surfing and thanks for the feedback:

“I have been training with Evolve Health on and off for over three years now. Each winter I sign up for their personal circuit training program, which gets me fit for a summer of kitesurfing. Every four weeks we change my routine, so it never gets old. These guys come highly recommended! – Steve Deane, nustudio.com.au

We will catch you winter 2013 when the Fremantle Doctor rests.

Thanks to Peter Gibbs for a humourous summary of his first 5 weeks with Evolve Health.

PRE  EVOLVE HEALTH

Well I guess you could say that it all began on the 5th September 2011.
That was the day Evolve Heath came into my life.
I was a portly 110kg + and feeling the worst I have for a long time.
I hadn’t exercised for at least 2 years.
Fortunately Tony de Graaf took pity on my condition and changed my life’s direction.
Prior to Evolve Health’s involvement it would not be unusual for me to dine out at least 5 times per week.
My average daily calorie intake from food and alcohol would exceed 5000 regularly.
My sleep pattern was erratic sometimes waking 6-8 times a night.
I was accused of break dancing in my sleep.
By mid-afternoon I was dozing off at my desk.
I could wake the neighbours with my snoring and was always complaining of one ailment or another.
I had no desire to exercise and lacked the energy to try.

POST EVOLVE HEALTH

It has now been 5 weeks and approximately 30 sessions (less Kidney Stone and Flu) and boy has my life changed.
I am currently  99.5kg (14.5kg to go)
My daily calorie intake is 1400 via the Metabolic Jumpstart Diet Plan.
I have not had an alcoholic drink for over 40 days (only 50 days to go).
I sleep constantly for at least 8 hours each night and have not woken during the night.
I wake up in bed where I went to sleep and hardly disturb the rest of the bed.
I have stopped snoring (according to people who would know).
My energy levels are better than they have been for a long time.
All the ache and pains I was getting have gone (apart from the gruelling training regime twinges)
I have never drunk so much water in my life.
All my friends have commented on the change to my appearance (for the better)
I look forward to the daily sessions and have met some terrific like minded people.

CONCLUSION

If someone does not agree that you can change your entire life for the better by using diet and exercise then they need to give me a call.
I guess you could say I am walking proof.

Kind Regards

Peter Gibbs (Your ever shrinking client)

I very highly recommend…

Evolve Health’s Wellness Coaching Program was everything I could’ve asked for in a personal mentor program.

My mentor, Tony, was understanding and gave me ideas to help me get around mental and physical road blocks, thus allowing me to achieve my goals!

Tony’s focus on goal setting over 12 weeks allowed for me to get much more out of myself than I ever thought would be possible!

Tony himself is an enigmatic and charismatic guy and our weekly chats were excellent in talking through the issues that may have stopped me from achieving my goals.

If you are ready to get “wellness” into your life and you can be honest with yourself and Tony,

I very highly recommend Evolve Health’s Wellness Coaching Program.

Does eating dairy based foods make you fat?

A recent Danish study which featured on the BBC showed that the calcium in dairy products will help you stay trim. A group of volunteers were put on a high calcium diet for a week and then those same volunteers were put on a low calcium diet for a week. Both diets had exactly the same daily calorie consumption and the same fat content. The results showed that 100% more fat was excreted by the volunteers on the high calcium diet versus the low calcium diet. The reason for this is because the calcium binds to the fat as it passes through your small intestine forming a soap like substance which is difficult for your digestive system to absorb. This means that the fat doesn’t end up on your waistline but instead ends up as human waste. Don’t be scared of of low fat dairy, a great option for your daily diet, but do not use this recent finding to justify full cream ice cream or custard tarts.

Behave healthy

So you have a “vision” for your own health and wellness but how are we going to get you there? Keep your vision in mind and set some behavioural goals that will make your vision a reality. These goals should be designed around setting healthy, long term behaviours in your life. Don’t worry about being too ambitious with your goals, just think what healthy habits you need to have in your life.

Examples of some behavioural goals are:

  • To complete 30 minute interval training sessions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings before work.
  • To drink 2 litres of water every day of the week.
  • To complete 45 minute resistance training sessions every Tuesday and Thursday during lunchtime.
  • To remove desserts from weekday diet.
  • To eat 2 pieces of fruit each and every day.

And in the next post I will give you ideas on how to get you hitting all of your goals in 12 weeks.
